sPACYcLOUd Releases 'Get Up, Stand Up' Hoodies Collection at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden

SPACYcLOUd releases 'Get Up, Stand Up' hoodies collection at WPA Holiday Pop-Up Shop at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 and 6, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., during the Smithsonian Holiday Festival.

"Get Up, Stand Up' collection was inspired by Bob Marley's song which is calling to take action to avoid oppression. Written by Marley and Peter Tosh, the song was influenced by their upbringing in Jamaica, where they had to fight for respect and acceptance for their Rastafarian religion.

From the shooting of Trayvon Martin, to debates raging over LGBT rights, to the persistent foregrounding of economic disparity between classes in political campaigns -- oppression, injustice, and violence still exist in our society.

It is sPACYcLOUd mission to reflect political and social currents through clothing, artwork, and attitude with the intention of sparking a conversation.
