Seven New Shops Welcomed sPACYcLOUd!

|
by Maddie Launais
It has been an amazing year so far. Less then two months into 2016, sPACYcLOUd has been welcomed into seven new stores: Bethesda Vapor Company, Bethesda Scooters and Boards, Driscoll's Surf and Skate Shop, Uncle Funky's Boards, Kanvas DC Gift shop at Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Island Dyes H St., and Capital Vape Supply!

Although all of our fellow shops are diverse, they all share our beliefs in expressing individuality, spreading positivity, and breaking free of the judgements of society. We represent those who don't fall into categories; those with free spirits and a desire to live out their dreams and pursue their passions. We are very thankful that we attract shops that share our values in order to promote the good vibes we all want to spread.
We are excited to announce that you can find us at Kanvas DC Gift Shop at DC Convention Center with a special purpose... sPACYcLOUd plans to not only provide for the DC area with its usual product, but also design themed pieces for the events that come and go through the convention center's doors!
This means we have a permanent home at Kanvas DC Gift Shop at the DC Convention Center, and get to interact with its patrons and events. We can't wait to be inspired by who and what we see there!

Island Dyes is also new home to sPACYcLOUd! It is a really cool joint on H Street in NE DC! We are excited to have sPACYcLOUd products at Island Dyes! Please stop by and show your love!

Uncle Funky’s is officially now a home to sPACYcLOUd’s product. With sPACYcLOUd’s unique style, it’s hard to imagine a fit as perfect as Uncle Funky’s, but lo and behold they share a love for vibrant colors, loud patterns, and skateboarding with a vintage twist.
Now sPACYcLOUd has the pleasure of too serving Uncle Funky’s customers! Though sPACYcLOUd isn’t new to the New York skate and fashion scene (you can also find us at Not Fade Away Trading Co. in Woodstock, NY!), we are excited to expand our scope to Uncle Funky’s Boards, as we share our values in self-expression in creativity. We hope you check out and appreciate sPACYcLOUd at Uncle Funky’s!

sPACYcLOUd products are also carried by the coolest skateboard shop on East Coast, Bethesda Boards!
Make sure to stop by this joint and show your love. In addition to dope products, they have great vibe and care about community by organizing skateboarding and longboarding events and sharing proceeds with local parks and recreations.  They have tons of amazing art created by local artists. Oh yeah!!! They also have the coolest and friendliest dog named Sierra!
We are very honored to be part of Bethesda Boards family. ~Peace!

With help of California-based pro skateboarder Ruben Najera, sPACYcLOUd products are now carried by Driscoll's Surf and Skate Shop, the oldest and longest running skate shop of Imperial Valley!
The Driscoll's Surf & Skate Shop has been in El Centro since 1979. It is the first local skate shop that has adapted to local clothing trends over the years, bringing everything from sunglasses to active sportswear for over three decades.
sPACYcLOUd is honored to be part of Driscoll's shop. Thank you to Ruben Najera for making our dream come true. Also, thank you to Sheyla Valencia for the photographs.

sPACYcLOUd is grateful and honored to be one of a very special group of brands offered at the Bethesda Vapor Company!
Bethesda Vapor Company (BVC) is owned and operated by three partners: Rod, Reza, and Jesse. They grew up in Maryland and attended the same (local) school, Springbrook High School.  BVC is a perfect reflection of their friendship, hard work, passion, and dedication. It is the spot to relax, play video games, and try BVC's extensive assortment of oils, vapors, and other products, including sPACYcLOUd.
BVC is about high quality, excellent customer service, and good vibes. We love their chic minimalist interior, aesthetics, and attention to detail.  BVC is definitely one of our favorite spots in the DMV!

We thank Capital Vape Supply for letting sPACYcLOUd be part of their family. It is a really cool place to chill, vape, and express your creativity on the walls (yes, you can draw on their walls!). Their crew is super friendly and down to earth.
What's more to love, they also support local artists and brands. sPACYcLOUd is honored to be represented by Capital Vape Supply!

We are humbled and grateful beyond words to the stores owners and managers for taking sPACYcLOUd in and for making us feel at home. Each of these stores has magic character and a special story and we are proud to be part of it.

sPACYcLOUd and Friends Jam at Funk Parade

Maddie Launais

The highly-anticipated DC Funk Parade took place on May 7th in Washington DC. The event was designed to bring people together through music, dance, the visual arts, and to celebrate the musical heritage of the historic U Street district.
An estimated 70,000 attendees turned Washington DC into a giant Funky town and, of course, we could not miss the opportunity to get down and play that funky music!

sPACYcLOUd teamed up with local musicians Capps Music, a trio consisting of Andy Capps, RicSeasons, and Ruxton, in addition to 13 Ruble, Raptorstein, and Blaze One of Tribalistix Sound. The artists masterfully merged various genres of music into a smooth set with a funky little beat and everyone had an awesome time.
Thank you to all the dancers, artists, skateboarders, hula hoopers, family, and friends who joined us.

3rd annual Funk Parade was a huge success and we cant wait till the next year!

An Action-Packed sPACYcLOUd Weekend!

By: Maddie Launais
This Saturday, the sPACYcLOUd crew and friends have a busy weekend! Catch us at 14th & U St. in Washington, D.C. from 12 P.M. - 4 P.M. at the DC Department of Funk: Funk Parade! Join us for fashion, music, skating, hula hooping and fun.

Later in the day you will find us at Shaw Skate Park as we team up with the Kennedy Center and George Mason University School of Art in their Finding A Line Funk Parade Concert. The Kennedy Center has done so much for the skateboarding community, sPACYcLOUd, its members and affiliated teams.

sPACYcLOUd/Skate Girls Tribe and DC Wheels Charity Team rider Joe Falvella has a special role, seeing as two of his sponsors have worked closely with the Kennedy Center and its skating events in the past, he has been able to bring all that skating together over the years in collaboration with his teams, recruiting new members to both along the way. For even MORE music, skating, and fun on Saturday at one of D.C.'s most popular skateparks, come down to Shaw from 5-8 P.M.!
